Arrow puzzle is a minimalist logic game where you clear a grid of directional arrows. The rules are simple — tap an arrow to slide it forward — but the strategy runs deep. This guide will take you from your first move to advanced solving techniques.
Every level starts with a grid filled with arrows. Each arrow points in one of four directions: up, down, left, or right. When you tap or click an arrow, it slides exactlyone cell forward in the direction it's pointing. But there's a catch — arrows can only move into empty cells.
If an arrow is at the edge of the board and points outward, tapping it will make the arrowescape — it flies off the grid and is removed from play. Your goal is to clear every arrow from the board.
Take a moment to look at the entire grid. Which arrows are at the edges pointing outward? These can escape immediately and are usually your first moves. Which arrows are blocked by other arrows?
Start by moving any arrow that has a clear path — either to an empty cell or off the edge. Each move changes the board state and may unblock other arrows.
If an arrow is blocked by another arrow, you need to remove the blocker first. This creates a dependency chain: arrow A blocks arrow B, so you must clear A before B can move. As levels get harder, these chains grow longer.
When you're stuck, try thinking backwards: "Which arrow must move last? What needs to happen before that?" Working from the end backwards often reveals the correct sequence more easily than trying to find the first move.
We provide three hint levels. The basic hint highlights one available move — use it to get unstuck. The advanced hint reveals the next move in the optimal solution — save this for truly puzzling boards.
Our curriculum is divided into four stages, each introducing a new layer of challenge:
